Last night I heard an owl
and thought of you.
Decided to get my car
and go to you.
Pondered for a while what
to say to you.
I dreamt about you smile
and flew with you.
We went to the big city
and smoked a cig.
We walked down a busy street
and rode with death.
You laughed and I held your hand
while sipping tea.
Soon it began to get dark
we have to go.
I am standing at your door
hand on the knob.
You do not know who it is
but you will wait.
Last night I heard an owl.
I wrote that the other night just as I was about to go to sleep.
As I was taking out my contacts in the dead stillness of night. And owl calling out broke through the silence. Hearing the noise, I was instantly flooded with thoughts of my friend Tina. I grabbed my journal, pulled the pen out of the spiral, flipped to a blank page and began writing. It probably took less than ten minutes. I really like it though. I can envision each line in my mind. I pulled from actually events, thoughts and Tina as her self.
I've been in the mood to write lately.
I don't know why.
And so I'm going with it.
I think that I'm going to start doing some free writing.
I always enjoyed doing that in high school.
Or when he would give us a word and then we'd have to write down the first word we thought of, and then from that new word, what other new word came to mind and so forth.
I think I'm going to write a story about last night.
Perhaps I'll post it when I'm finished.
