It was you

Dec 24, 2006 22:36

I wrote this about a week ago. It first came to me while I was lying in bed Friday night and then I added on to it over the weekend. I like it a lot.

You sat down with your pretend smile
And I believed you for a while
Needed your touch
Wanted so much
You started to say not a thing
And I began to feel the sting
I gave you so many a chance
But you didn't even say,
"Do you want to dance?"

It was you, I wanted to love
It was you, I wasn't above
I was low and I wanted to go somewhere with you.
It was you.

And now the years that have gone by
I miss you more than being high
From so much time
Thought you were mine
You have to go out all alone
And left me here without a clone
So here I am all on my own
I don't sit and wait by the phone

It was you, I wanted to love
It was you, I wasn't above
I was low and I wanted to go somewhere with you.
It was you.

You made me laugh and be careless
Because of you I'm still a mess
Want you to know
It's time to go
You were fake and you told me lies
So I got my some good old spies
They said they saw your pretend face
It was the same, just different place

It was you/I thought I knew
It was you/Just like a shoe
Oh not too tight/But just right
I was so blind/You were kind
You made me cry/Want to die
You threw me out/Like stale pie
You took much of/My short life
I felt the pain/A sharp knife

So sick of the past
I thought you would last

It was you, I wanted to love
It was you, I wasn't above
I was low and I wanted to go somewhere with you.
It was you.

Tell me what you think.
