Hey look, it's me.

I've decided to bite the bullet and try to post something. It'll probably take me all day between running around with the kids, but damnit, I can at least start it.

Let's see, first off, I pierced my nose. Most of you know this from facebook, but some of you aren't on there. I'd been thinking about it for a long time but finally came to the realization that I couldn't trust another person to drive a needle through my face. Thus I went into the bathroom one night last week and came out an hour later with a nose ring. It actually wasn't very painful at all, thought it sounds badass. I have a scar on the side of my nostril (bad accident and some facial reconstruction as a kid) that went about 1/3 of the way through anyway. So I just shoved a needle the rest of the way through. The only issue was when I discovered that the skin on the inside of your nose is surprisingly tough. I finally stuck an exacto knife up there. made an incision and got the earring through. Eventually I'll change to an official nose ring, but right now I've just got a regular ear stud in it. I love it.

Scotty is doing well. He still can't gain weight, but all his tests came back normal. I swear the list was huge. They must have tested 40 different things. So next month he starts going to Dornbeckers (childrens hospital, one of the best on the west coast) to delve into things a little deeper. He'll be going to their feeding clinic where he'll see a nutritionist. But he'll also be seeing a psychiatrist and three other docs. Of course, our insurance covers none of it. Sigh.

Therapy has been going well. OK, I take that back, it sucks. It's been a rough go learning how to deal with flashbacks and panic attacks. But this weeke I have an appointment with the psychiatric nurse practitioner to have my meds redone. I've been struggling a lot lately and I know they're way off.

Naisa has switched her major and chosen a new university. Now she wants to major in European History at Trent University (still in Canada). She seems really excited. She's making all her phone calls and she's already paid for her SAT's.

Hunter is, well, Hunter. Still a complete enigma to me. He seems to be enjoying high school though, and there;s been no trouble yet.

Ireland is home sick today. She's been sick off and on for weeks. Scotty had swine flu, but I think Ireland just has a cold that won't let up. And she has asthma now. Although today it's pretty apparent tat she's not really sick, she just didn't want to go to school. She now has to stay in bed all day. That's what you get for being a fiblet. In our house, a small person who tells a fib is a fiblet. Anyway, fiblets get no rewards.

Tom finished up his classes last week. And Naisa has finals this week. Nice to not have them both doing finals at the same time.
