Room 328, Saturday Evening

Jun 21, 2008 22:58

Sam wasn't home yet. He'd left this afternoon with Dean and he wasn't home yet.

This was...not good.

How long did she have to wait before calling the clinic without sounding crazy?

[ooc: Door and post are open if anyone wants.]

328, hell gods suck ass, sam

Okay, so she hadn't found Hades or anything like that, but she probably shouldn't go hunting for him, 'cause she promised people she'd be sane, and so she was going to --

Rikku stopped mid-thought, noticing that Dawn's door was open, and Dawn was inside her door, and Dawn ... didn't look so good.

"Dawn?"

"Huh?" She glanced over from where she'd been staring out the window, hoping she'd be able to see Sam walking up. "Oh, Rikku. Hey."

"Hey," Rikku said, stepping in uncertainly. "You, uh. You ... okay?"

Dawn looked okay, like, physically, as far as she could see, but maybe she got thwacked by something bad and was in shock?

Dawn shook her head. "Sam's not back."

Rikku froze, and then a split second later dashed across the room, reaching to pull Dawn into a tight hug.

"It's okay, it's okay," she said. "Oh my gosh, are you okay?!"

"What?" Dawn hugged Rikku back out of habit, then squeezed more tightly when she realized how much she'd needed it. "Yeah, I'm--"

This was Rikku, why was she lying? "No, I'm going kind of squirrelesque, but not in the radio way."

"It's okay," Rikku said, not letting go. "He's probably out doing the hero thing, yeah? You know what boys get like."

If he hadn't gotten in touch somehow ... not going to think that. Off being a hero. Boys did stupid things like that all the time.

"He left with Dean way earlier," she said quietly, pulling away from Rikku and returning to her post by the window. "Neither of them called. I even called Professor Winchester, but I haven't heard from him, either."

"He's ... their dad, right?" Rikku said, folding her arms across herself and nodding. "So you know he's gonna be out looking. Maybe that's why you can't get him, he's off with them and they're doing monster-killing things."

She shivered, even though it wasn't cold in here at all.

"It's gonna be okay," she said. "Do you wanna go looking?"

"Maybe," she sighed, resting a hip against the bookcase. "Thanks, but no, not in the dark. I promised Sam I'd stay safe and going out in the dark to look for someone who's probably perfectly fine doesn't count."

She'd be awake until Sam got back, probably repeating just that to herself.

"Rats," Rikku said, frowning. "This means he owes you, huge. You were the responsible one while he took off and made you worry. There are levels the groveling involved in that one."

She considered the issue for a second. "You know what we need?"

He could pay her back by coming home, thank you very much. "He's being responsible. Maybe he just broke his phone or something."

"What?"

"He needs a back-up phone, from now on, in case his regular phone breaks," Rikku said. Shhh, it made sense in Rikku logic.

"I say, we find a buttload of ice cream, movies with half-naked guys, and PJs," she decided. "Bonus points if we can dig up some of that crazy soda from before."

"I'm up for the ice cream and PJs," she said, suddenly missing Luke like crazy, "but I don't know if I'm in the right mood for half-naked guys. Other than mine. Ooooh, wait. How's yours?"

"Mine is ... yummy," she decided, only blushing a little. "And off being a cocky bastard, 'cause that's what he does best. He was rambling about patrolling sector eight and being a badass and something about a centaur?" She rolled her eyes. "Guys."

Like she hadn't picked up her Godhand and tore off looking for monsters like they were a late birthday present or anything. Not her ...

"Hmmm. Stupid movies?"

"I could maybe do stupid," she conceded. "Wait. Fandom has sectors now? It's good you have stuff you can do in common, though."
