Room 328, Sunday Afternoon and Later

Jun 15, 2008 17:52

Oooh, hey. Volcano eruption. Noooot good. Since this didn't seem to be anything more apocalypse-related than usual, Dawn was taking pictures of the volcano through the window instead of researching.

Next, she sat down to write a couple of letters. Luke would probably understand, but what on Earth could she say to Buffy?

Meg couldn't sit still when it looked like that outside so she had taken to wandering the halls. She leaned against the doorway to 328 when she saw that Dawn was in her room.

"You know, I always knew I had to die, but I never ever thought I'd go out in a sea of fiery magma," Meg said. Wasn't she cheerful?

"I know, right?" Dawn asked, turning around. "I always thought it would be way more attacky and gorey, personally. Maybe with a curse. What's up, other than the obvious?"

Meg shrugged. "Nothing much. The other day I was thinking that I could use a little more excitement around here. I guess I should have been a little more specific and wanted non-life threatening excitement."

Laughing, she said, "Yeah, probably better to be specific about things like that. Otherwise, next thing you know you've been kidnapped and tied up and not at all in the fun way."

"Thankfully that's only happened to me once. Although I don't remember wishing for excitement that time," Meg said, stepping into the room. "So other than the obvious, what's up with you?"

"Nothing. Just taking pictures and writing letters to Buffy and Luke," she shrugged, clearing some junk off of her bed, where it tended to accumulate. "Got that whole impending doom vibe going. Weird not to be fighting it somehow, y'know?"

She plonked down on the bed near the pillows so Meg could sit anywhere else on it she wanted, including the chair which seemed to be clear.

"Uh, I don't know. I was never much of a fighter, even here," Meg said, sitting down at the foot of the bed. "History has me as a hide-in-my-room type of gal."

"Yeah? It seems to work out for you okay." She almost wished she could do that, sometimes. "Lots less arguing, anyway."

"Oh, believe me, I've wanted to argue. But, uh, I guess I'm kind of a pushover," Meg said. She was being modest; she was a huge pushover. "And you kind of feel useless when you're hiding in your room. I'd much rather fight now that I've done it before. Twice, even."

"It's not so bad, but wow, certain people hate it," she said, glancing over towards Sam's side of the room. "I used to be hide in the shop/library/house girl, too, but I got better. Next time something happens? I'll drag you out if you want."

Assuming there was a next time and that Dean didn't find out about this and kill her, that was.

"Oh you totally have my permission to drag me out. Forcibly, if I'm being a chicken," Meg said, grinning. And, yes, Dean would kill her if he found out about this.

"For anything special? I mean, do you care if you get attacked by stuff, or would you rather research, or what?"

"I've been attacked by robots before and I did alright with that," Meg said thoughtfully. "So I think I can handle the whole attacking thing."

Meg seems to have forgotten how being attacked by a vampire turned her into a flailing mess.

"Cool," Dawn said, nodding as she took Meg at her word. "Sometimes it's more fun than researching, even if sometimes it's scary as all heck."

"Oh yeah, I can imagine," Meg said. "But still, it's better than sitting around and worrying. Which is what I've been doing most of today. There's not much to do against a volcano though."

"Nope." She glanced out the window. "I've already taken pictures and written goodbye letters, so I'm kind of bored waiting for impending death. Read any good books lately?"
