had the most awesome vacation ever. went to Maine with my uncle, and cousin for the week. we had soooo much fun, I almost killed myself laughing. we went skiing and snowboarding and I learned that I like snowboarding a lot more than skiing. why? I have no clue. it probably has something to do with the fact that my mother really doesn't want me getting the steriotypically lousy reputation of an inconsiderate snowboarding teenager. all the more reason to get better at it. this shall be interesting.

I stayed up late last night watching all the pointless crap that television has to offer. five different shows in a row, all on different channels, all with the same basic plot and conclusion. in all of the shows, a crime was committed and the cops chased the guilty party through the back streets of some filthy city, fighting obstacles, facing danger and using their witty common sense to solve the mysteries. for some reason, they could only accomplish this AFTER they cut open multiple corpses and poked at their organs. I assume this was simply for dramatic effect in hopes that naive viewers might be caught off guard and up-chuck. someone please explain to me why america has what are considered to be the leading media and entertainment industries. I cannot understand it.

Ick, school tomorrow. In a way, I want to go for the sole purpose of escaping my parents and my boredom, but I am in no hurry to resume work and managing responsibilities. I want to see my friends and get out of this stuffy house. I need to get out and about. I miss Ireland, with all its open space and beautiful scenery. Things seemed so picturesque and perfect there. Here, it is cramped and complicated. I need to breathe easier. I also need to start running again as part of my new year resolutions. I promised myself not only that I will stay in shape, but that I will be healthier overall and maybe try to get along a little better with my mother and stay out of trouble. Though, the last two will prove more difficult and probably not pass minimal testing, I can at least pretend to intend to act on them.
2006 takes effect as soon as I devour the enormous hershey kiss I recieved from my cousin Chloe for Christmas.

*sigh* happy new year.
