My favorite professor from undergrad put it SO well:
"I happen to believe our healthcare system is an affront to human rights of all kinds. The numbers of uninsured, lack of access to care, disparities in quality of care, and the BILLIONS of dollars that insurance companies (an industry that doesn't even need to exist) are making by systematically denying people coverage are all symptomatic of a host of cultural ills--classism, racism, homophobia and sexism being the tip of the iceberg.
I chose to take today as a victory."
