summer is almost over...
wow alot goin on lately, dont even know where to begin. This truly has been a wonderful summer. The beginning of the summer started out with an awesome trip to Guatemala. This trip truly changed my life. My heart longs for the people that i met there, although i keep in touch often through email i cant wait to go back so i can see them again. Baudillio, Rolando, Hueste, Mariza and her sisters... I love them all. Mariza, an awesome teenage girl (17 years old) that i met at a "Purpose Driven Life" celebration, taught me soooo much. Although i do not speak much Spanish, and she doesnt know English, we had a special connection. The day that i had to leave her, she looked at me with tears in her eyes and she said in her broken English, "Margirita, we serve the same God, we are family..." I of course cried too, and hugged her. We talk about once a week on email, she tells me all about what she is doing and about the events at her church. She ends every email "sisters in him, hugs and kisses" What a sweet spirit she has. The children that i met in the poor village of Puerto Barious are continually in my prayers. My "sidekick" Danielle Maria was the sweetest little girl ever! She tried so hard to impress me with her English, what a cutie :) I miss her.
The rest of the summer has also been a growing experience. My friends are awesome, and i have come to realize how blessed i am to have them in my life. This summer has been filled with so many fun things; rc car obsession, late night martin doughnut trips, funny quotes, cornhole, lots o swimming, coldplay concert, chris tomlin concert... and so much more! Summer 05 baby!
This summer has been so freeing, affiriming that i can be myself and people like the real me! :) How great! ok so this is gettin long huh?.... on a more disappointing note, school starts next week. That means the end of all the summer fun...i pray that this school year goes well for everyone. I myself am dreading it...boo on school
