This is what my 'hood in Portland, OR has looked like the last couple of weeks. Just to clarify...this is Oregon...NOT Portland, Maine...although based on the photos you'd think that was the case....

It has gotten exponentially worse the last couple of days. People here are calling it a Snowpocalypse.
Anyone who thinks this is normal for here needs to pull their head out. This is NOT the midwest! I'm tired of shoveling snow. My arms are going to fall off. You would think missing three days of work would be cool right? Not so much...not when you are a temp and don't get paid personal/holiday time. It has in fact been more stressful being at home dealing with this crap than it would have been if I had managed to get into work. I've never experienced anything quite like this. Ok my midwest friends...go ahead and have a laugh. You know you want to. ;)
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. I will get over my current bah-humbug-ness before long. I do have a lot to be thankful for. We have electricity and heat which is more than I can say for some folks out here. I know that is a major issue back east and they are having way harsher temperatures than we are here. I don't know how people in the midwest manage with their animals in this weather. My heart goes out to them. Horrible shit! One of my dogs is totally miserable and the other is amazingly fascinated.
Happy Christmas Eve everyone!
