AX Report!
Well, we are back home from our extended stay in California and man was it fun. The 23 hour drive wasn't as bad as we were expecting. With Mary, Chris and I taking turns driving it was actually very enjoyable. It was odd chasing the sun driving west from Texas, it seemed as though the day light would never fade. We saw some strange thing on our journey there. But for the most part just a vast amount of untouched land that spans on as far as the eye can see. Sometimes I forget that most of our county is uninhabited.
We arrived at Matt's place <3 in Van Nuys and headed to the convention the next day. Oh man was is awesome! I wish I could have seen more people that I wanted to hang out with, but thats just the nature of a huge convention ...chaos! It was good getting to see and hang out with our friends in Cali, that is what always makes the convention for me. The cosplay this year was excellent! I swear the quality of cosplayers costumes gets better with each passing year! The masquerade OMG everything was great!! I can't think of a single skit that was weak. Chris, Gavin, Mary and I got front row seats next to the judges thanks to Matt and Tianna <3 We did some cosplaying the last 2 days in, Soul Calibur, Castlevania, and original faerie stuff.
On the 4th we headed back to Matt & Greg's place with Gren, Gavin, Amanda & Dia to enjoy the fireworks on the roof of their apartment complex. Later that night we went on a FatBurger run. It was great sitting in this tiny resturant, eating huge hamburgers and listening to Beck on the jukebox.
The next two days were spent driving around California seeing all the famous sites like, the Chinese Theater, Walk of Fame, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, Japan Town, The Boardwalk, and finishing it up with some kick-ass kitty curry. Vanii meet up with us to show us around Sunset Boulevard.... i love my little mermaid <3 The last night Matt, Shawn, Candice & Cameron went to see Pirates of the Caribbean, which i thought was kinda weak. It seems we packed as much site seeing as we could the last two days, and I'm glad we did!
I think we were all kinda sad leaving from such a good time and awesome people, but Its good to be back home after all the excitement.
