HOLYSHITEARTHQUAKE
That earthquake was pretty fucking awesome! I have no sense of reference, but somehow I expected 5.8 to be a little...shakier. I was out to lunch with some co-workers and the floor just started gently waving, like bouncy-house style. When it stopped, I picked the conversation right back up where it had been before, and then realized that no one else was talking - they were all gripping the table and looking around wide-eyed.
After walking back to the office, we realized that our building (and pretty much every other building in DC, as far as I could tell) was shut down. I waited around for a while, and then they started sending people home. Some of my stuff is still at my desk, but whatever. I gave the new kid a ride home, and stopped at CVS for some stuff for the upcoming Paris trip, and now here I am.
I want another one now. That was cool as hell.
