Last night I had a dream that Alana and I were teaching a class together. Alana said, "Now Miss Carroll's going to improvise a song called 'The American Two-Toed Sloth.' " So I sat down at the piano and started making up a really slow, creeping song that had the Star-Spangled Banner buried way down in the left hand! It was such a funny dream, I just had to giggle when I woke up! I think it was a combination of singing the National Anthem for all those kids, real improvising I did for the Year Nines, Jake Scott's hilarious note about his third-graders, and the movement from the Carnival of the Animals that has the Can-Can hidden deep down!

I'm off to play in a band concert!
