Transsexual City Manager Ousted
This article makes me pretty sad and angry. The City Manager of Largo, Florida is in the process of being removed from his position following an announcement that he plans to pursue a sex-change operation. This is apparently legal under the terms of his contract. The mayor and one commissioner voted against dismissing him, but that was not enough.
I doubt if it will do any good--there has apparently been significant supportive response from everyone except Largo voters themselves--but I've sent email to the City Commission at commission@largo.com. One could also call them at 727 587-6702, if one were so inclined.
