Nine months ago- a pregnancy away- alexanderland was born and I hate to see all my fears have turned out to be true.

As an avid reader and writer of fanfiction it had come to my attention that there are very few blogs and forums devoted to hetLex fiction and art and thought it was a good idea to do something about it.. Thus Read more... )

I don't know what it is with people in fandom at large these days. At one time, it seemed that everyone was interested in joining new communities and trying new things. Now, it seems that to me that most people hang out in one tiny corner of fandom and rarely venture an opinion or post anything even in communities they belong to. I realize that a dozen people are now going to tell me I'm wrong, and I hope I am, but that's the feeling I get lately.

I answered to this in my previous message, just before your comment uploaded. lol.

People seem to be lazy and disrespectful on the net nowadays, just as they´re in real life.Very few people stand up to say what they think, support what they believe or support their fellow-men. That´s one of the reasons things are going down the drain in our society.

Why the heck would Slash fans be ashamed of reading a het story? Are they nuts? I'm a huge Slash fan, but I read whatever I friggin' well please, and don't read what I don't want to read. I read your Chlex stories and I like them. Why the heck would I be ashamed of that? :-)))

Freaking unbelievable, but I´ve come across several of them.

Or maybe it's just that I'm a bad writer, and not worth leaving feedback for, I don't know. :-)))

This is the impression one might get when hanging out on blogs and LJ. That´s the main reason I thank God for NS and my fellow Chlexers there. Do´t worry, Jen, we don´t suck. The one non-slash story of yours I´ve read proves it. :)

I totally agree. Good manners are an endangered species these days. People seem to think that bad manners are more honest, or something, I don't know. It's depressing.

I'm glad you don't think my writing sucks. Neither does yours. :-)))

Yes, and they call themselves " transgressors". What transgression is there in doing what most people do? Hey, WE are the real transgressors.I´m not a relativist, particularly when it comes to what I consider to be good manners and values. Good heavens! Rudeness doesn´t equal honesty.Yes, we live in a very depressing world indeed. Luckily there are still people out there who aren´t part of this mass- although what stands out seems to be always the negative.
