DC/METRO ONTD_STARTREK MEETUP

Going to see Star Trek at the Smithsonian IMAX in Chantilly, VA on Friday 6/19 at 6pm.

I might be interested--keep me/us posted! :) IMAX would be kickass, though, if DC area people could get to Chantilly. Just went to see it with my family at the Air and Space annex there and it was fantastic.

Ooh, Chantilly. I'd have to look at a map and see if I'd be able get there quick enough for a show. Will look into it and PM you- that okay?

Sure thing. :) I could potentially be down with whatever in the DC area, though--I live near a Metro stop (it's actually easier for me to get into the city than it is to get to the annex). If you know anywhere else it's showing in IMAX, or I don't know what the Avalon's like but if it's got a decent screen and sound system, that could work too.

I'll scope out the Avalon and let you know. I think it's playing at the Uptown too (I'd have to double check, of course). I'd love to see it in Chantilly, but for such a drive I'm better off going on the weekend- I'm moving on the 20th and that means the next two weekends are shot (just, and I mean just signed the lease yesterday and due to some last minute renovations I can't get in there sooner). The other option is the last weekend in June- I like this movie enough I could probably see it this week OR next AND that weekend, but then there's the whole issue of whether it will still be in theaters... OH, THE DRAMA!

I'm interested in going to see it as well....especially at the Smithsonian/Avalon/Uptown. Sorry to show up out of the blue, I'm a lurker on ontd_startrek, but I'm in the DC area and would love to go! I have a weird schedule so I may not be able to make it, but I'll follow along with the planning process in case it magically works out. Also, once it stops playing in wide release, it will then show at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse, which is always lots of fun to go to.
