Universal off-day

This morning I had a very strong feeling that today, Wednesday 29th of August, is an off-day for many. I'm not talking about me feeling like nothing I do today is turning out as it should, but during just my drive to work I got the worst of vibes, which is what I am basing this theory on.

First, when driving to the local store to pick up lunch, I met an ambulance speeding through town, sirens blaring (the nearest hospital is in Ekenäs, which is 45 minutes away driving at normal speed, and at least 30 minutes for a high-speed ambulance. Waiting for that long for help to arrive is a horrible thought.). After a small detour, I got onto the same road, going to work, and a grey car in front of me was driving either like they were drunk or extremely upset. The road is serpentine, going this way and that, and the speedlimit is quite high, so I gave them a lot of space after the car spent a little too long driving in the wrong lane. My first thought was that maybe they were the nearest relatives of whoever needed the ambulance. Halfway to Ekenäs they stopped and one of the passangers got out and walked around on the sidewalk for a while, clearly either ill or upset.

Latest omen was simply meeting another car on the highway driving at an unusually slow speed. Not doing so great, obviously. And I haven't even checked the news today, but there's never anything especially cheery there. The weather is overcast, it's a little chilly, and quite simply I really think this isn't the day for either getting married, trying to surprise someone, booking tickets for an expensive trip, experimenting with cooking, trying extreme sports for the first time or even thinking "things will work out, no need to worry". Leave all of that for tomorrow, and today, use extra caution and have some empathy for everyone that's having a strike of bad luck. Also, I find that buying a yummy bag of candy helps a little.
