live from the friendliest happiest windiest capital city in the whold damned world, nestled in the green GREEN hills of the cleanest most inviting and generous and gorgeous country on earth . .
wellington is my ideal city. i suppose. time to leave. catching the overnight bus back up to auckland. which is quite a nice city in its own respect. but once you've compared it to welly, it's nothing. have to go change my travel plans so i can stay an extra month or so in this heavenly place. can't wait to get back on the road. this is the longest i've ever spent in a city .. i think. two weeks. good lord. but then . . i don't really feel like i do in any other city. it's so compact and small (only half a million people). so last night was my last at the hostel. it has, by the way, been a particularly excellent hostel mostly due to the fact that the owner, glenn, is a four-wheel-drive-off-roading freak who delights in torturing chosen guests with his 50 degree angle descents into the ocean. but anyways. so last night was my last night, as i pointed out to one of the english guys staying there. and we decided to celebrate by getting drunk, as it was also his last night. we managed to stay up till the birds were well into their dawn opera and jay came up with the brilliant idea of a early morning stroll, which turned into a hike when we all came to the end of a street and continued into the bush [one great great great thing about wellington is that you can walk ten minutes nad find yourself in the *bush*]. i discovered a cabin with yet another trail behind it, and having that particularly insistent adventurous voice in my head, which constantly tells me to take a couple extra steps . . making a long story short i crawled up a hill with no end through gorse and mud to find a rather nice view of the city and surrounding hills and ocean and islands all under a thick morning cloud cover. really beautiful. well . .. all of it's beautiful.
so . . . many interesting things have happened so far. of course. as all travel adventures go. it's all in the people and the land. people. i'm usually more of a loner .. recluse .. but they're so damned interesting. the backpacker is quite a breed.
going home to get my license, enough ass for simple satisfaction, enough herb for some extra inspiration, hugs and kisses from friends and family, apply for university (SAT score 1350, phew) .. maybe make a little money . . and go on a grand tour of the west!!! i hope .. .
hope
yeah.
jay's leaving december 12th so i will be travelling completely on my own. aaaahhhhhh .. . wooooohoooo!!! going full noise!

take care you beautiful people. much much love ~
