a little early 8 months update
Melody turns 8 months old on Friday the 22nd.
The last few weeks have been eventful in her development. I told you before that she has started to crawl, right? She's crawling more and more now and she also wants to stand up, but she can only stand up on her knees yet, unless she can hold on to something. However, if someone is holding her hands, she can stand up and even walk a step or two, but that is a very hesitant step so far.
When doing the 8 months check-up at the health care the other day, we got the word that Melody is at least two months early in development. Our nurse was impressed when she saw that Melody can hold things in each hand and clap them together. Our nurse said "It's not an unintelligent child you have there". :-)
Current stats, as of Fri dec 15th 2006:
Height: 66 cm
Weight: 7120 g
Head circumference: 42.6 cm
Yesterday Melody saw Santa for the first time at my Mom's house and she was a little afraid, but still dared to touch Santa's beard. She is also very curious about Christmas trees. We celebrated Christmas with my family yesterday, since we're going to Frank's family in the USA on Tuesday, to celebrate Melody's first Christmas there.
