Solstice
I believe I'll take a quick lunch outside today in celebration of the solstice. It looks to be a beautiful summer day -- if a bit hot -- and I could do with the time outside. Happy solstice, happy summer everyone.
Movies
Touchstone and I have finally managed to catch up a little bit on our Netflix watching. We're still wandering our way through episodes of Farscape which I keep running hot and cold on. I keep thinking that the characters are facinating and well done, and that the storylines should showcase them better. Great cast, great set-up, great make-up, great concept. But the individual episodes seem to be weaker than they ought to be.
Shaun of the Dead was fabulous in an "I can't watch this part" sort of way. I spent half of the movie giggling; the other half hiding under the covers. Although, to be fair to the movie, there was only one scene of really over-the-top ugly gore. In general, the zombies-eat-you bits were pretty mild. I don't think I'll be able to convince Outlawcoon to watch it, but I enjoyed it.

She's walking almost everywhere now; I really need to buy a few more shoes for the child, but it's summer-time and barefoot is still more comfy. Perhaps in another week or so she'll lose the knee callouses that she's built up over the past two months. Now if I can just get her to call me Ma instead of Da...
