So, I'm thinking I'm gonna be a bit of a copy cat and copy Robert a bit. Simply put: I need money; money=good. While I'm not as desperate as Robert and I am a bit picky about the kind of work I end up doing, I do need to earn quite a bit of money rather quickly

Don't buy Alienware...They have a very limited shelf-life because of the overclocking of the hardware in them. Which causes steady heat damage to the interior of the machine. They are also a fire hazard unless you buy a heat sink and have little to no battery life unless you buy expensive battery updgrades.

They are also over priced for what you get. What you pay for is the brand name.

Also the company was recently bought up by Dell and the effect on quality of parts has yet to be seen.

If you need some advice on buying a decent rig, I'd be happy to provide it.

Seriously, though. Not a lot of moolah to be made through these people -- all I got was twenty-bucks a month, blisters on my feet, and such sore muscles that sex was out of the question for a month. Damn manual labor to hell.

Agreed on the same note as Nathan, Alienware in the past I would really be hyped for. But the price versus what you get now, ESPECIALLY since dell has lisenced it (cutting over half their customer service staff in the process). If you were getting a desktop it would be a little different, but not to add more to nathan too much, your paying an extra 600 over say a Gateway/Toshiba (Mhmmm num) laptop for a pretty little alien symbol.

Then again maybe thats worth it :\

Though I doubt you would, you can always talk to me about suggestions also, Lotterman shares the same sentiment and I can get him connected if need be.
