So, I'm thinking I'm gonna be a bit of a copy cat and copy Robert a bit. Simply put: I need money; money=good. While I'm not as desperate as Robert and I am a bit picky about the kind of work I end up doing, I do need to earn quite a bit of money rather quickly.
Here's the catch, I leave for camp in nine days. I won't be back, back until school starts. Yes, I'll be here a bit before that, but not dependably so. Then, at some point in September, I'll be going to St. Louis for 4-5 days. Also in October or November, I'll be going to Utah for a week or two. So December is more or less the earliest I'll be able to get a job that actually pays me decent.
Why do I want money? I need a new computer. My disc drive on this laptop is completely shot (it's only supposed to last 3 months, I've made it somehow last two and a half years), and for god knows what reason, it doesn't like to function properly. The computer itself is only supposed to be reliable for three years or so.
Normally, I'd make do. But a) I don't want it crashing during the school year, b) Dell discontinued making parts for it, so I can't just get a new disc drive, though I could shell out lots of $ for a compatible one (but that also implies having $), and c) I'm a dork and I need my video games.
The last one of those reasons is more or less the least "proper" of them all, but hey, it is a reason. :P
(If my disc drive's broken just getting the expansion won't do me any good).
So, jobs= good. especially if they're computer ones. I figure I'll talk mum into cleaning my room while I'm gone, so I can earn allowance when I get back. (That'd still take me six or so months to get a comp though). She would normally pay for it out right and then let me pay her back, but without a job just spending $300 dollars on what she considers to be a "whim" rather than a necessity (How am I supposed to graduate when my senior project is on this comp and requires a computer to do? I vote necessity.) is a bit ridiculous. Also, she'll be buying me a laptop (I think, though originally we had agreed on an Alienware T_T) when I graduate so I can have one at college. Meaning, she's recognized that this one won't last that long.
Grr... I wonder if I could talk my aunt into buying me an Alienware. That would make my day and a half.
This reminds me, when am I supposed to be saving up for a trip to South Korea? T_T
Well, computer first since I need it to graduate. I'll make this work somehow, I have faith in me. ^__^
