You can totally write fic for it anyway. New movie(s) = alternate universe, so you don't need prior knowledge of ToS to write fic. Also ToS I think plays streaming on cbs.com. Which I should look into, because it's the one series I never really watched any of.

See, I don't even know what ToS stands for =S

I only watched a few ep.s of Capt. Picard & Data & that Klingon guy. Totally different generation.

Mm, I'll have to look into that when I get home.

New movie(s) = alternate universe

But I didn't even know crucial things like Vulcan has green blood! And that's important to know because I need to know what shade Spock turns into when he blushes X-D

I might Wikipedia the whole thing. If Star Trek has an equivalent of HP Lexicon that'd be terribly helpful...

ToS = The Original Series. Not sure why I didn't capitalize the 'o'.... lol.

Totally different generation.

Funny you should refer to it as such as it is The Next Generation. :P

Spock's still half-human, so don't go by that. I don't know much about those details myself, as I was never into TOS. I tried to start watching it but it's honestly too old for me to get into easily - - the effects aren't good enough for me to be able to immerse myself.

- a much faster heart rate than humans.
- The Vulcan heart is located where the human liver is

V. v. crucial to know, thank you.

Spock in a mating frenzy. *drools*

Hee, I'll just have to paste Zachary Quinto's face in my mind X-D

The average Vulcan lifespan is 250 years, so Vulcans can be a lot older than they appear.

Oooh, so Spock Prime...150 yrs. later...is about 175/250 = 70% of his life span or about ~ 56 y.o. human.
Yes I can see that. It makes Kirk/Spock Prime the slightest bit less wrong. But his Kirk would've died by then aww =(

(Spock/Uhura did not exist canon-wise until this movie.)

But Uhura is a canon character, yes?

And Kirk/Spock is actually one of the major pairings that brought slash into existence.

That, I did know =D
All their pairing smashnames are so ridiculous though X-D Spork...Kock...

BTW, Vulcans only have the single name? What's the name of Spock's father & mother, does canon tell us?

Also, I'm assuming the original Spock is nowhere as volatile as the AR!Spock?

Uhura is a canon character, yes. There just were no canon relationships in TOS. (Though Uhura and Kirk did share the first interracial kiss aired on American telivision. XD)

his Kirk would've died by then
Spock Prime's (Leonard Nimoy! <3) Kirk died in the movie, Generations. But scifi is a funny place, so it's a bit more complicated than that.

their pairing smashnames are so ridiculous
Thankfully, that trend didn't take hold back then, so they were just K/S

Vulcans only have the single name?
His full name is unpronounceable to humans. And no one has the nerve to nickname a Vulcan, not even behind his back.

What's the name of Spock's father & mother?
Father: Sarek (Most male Vulcans have names that start with S and end with a K sound, in honor of Surak, who began the philosophy of logic and emotional control that explains why Vulcans act the way they do.)
Mother: Amanda (human). Given the disparate lifespans of humans and Vulcans, Sarek did have at least two other wives, one of whom was also human.

I'm assuming the original Spock ( ... )

So what's the deal with the Kirk/Uhura kiss? Under the influence? Diversionary tactics? ;-)

But scifi is a funny place, so it's a bit more complicated than that.

Ha, I bet. What are some fan explanations that he didn't actually die?

I kept on thinking that human fashion became ridiculous. After watching a second time I realized that Spock's mom was wearing a Vulcan dress, not Earth fashion X-D
Also, the movie did give an explanation for Bones' nickname:
He said to Kirk when they first met, "Ex-wife took the whole planet. All I have left is my bones."

6) Vulcans are vegetarian.

Good to know =)
Are Romulans vegetarians too?

Does canon tell us whether Vulcans and Romulans breathe oxygen or some different gas?

what's the deal with the Kirk/Uhura kiss?
telekinetic aliens who'd grown bored with existence, so they used their powers to force visitors to entertain them

What are some fan explanations that he didn't actually die?
Not even fan explanations. Kirk (the character) died in Generations, nobly and all that. blah blah blah... William Shatner (the actor) is not particularly good at letting go, so he's co-written a whole series of Trek novels charting Kirk's resurrection and adventures. *is annoyed*

re: Bones
Caught that. I loved that they finally gave us a decent explanation. That was new info though, never explained in earlier canon.

Are Romulans vegetarians too?Um... I'm not sure. I don't think so, as it's more a reflection of Vulcan's pacifist beliefs than anything biological. Romulans came about when those who didn't want to follow those beliefs left Vulcan to follow their own path, so it would be rather odd if they were. But we don't see much of Romulans in a social/community setting, so I can't think of it ever being addressed one ( ... )

Indian people (strictest diet I can think of, aside from vegans) = the most peace-loving people on earth

I protest. I'm all for anarchy and mayhem :D :D

Btw, Vulcan is also a very hot and dry planet

People eat cats ? *Appalled* *Hugs most beloved misanthropic kitty*
