"Dragon Rose" cookies

Jan 21, 2007 23:43

I need to stop getting distracted by the shiny.
Wrote some cookies for Pet!Draco (Kimi wa Petto) today.
Decided that "It Happened One Night" should be non-magic AU with Muggles being Americans and Draco attending all-boys Durmstrang :-P
Also, had some inspiration for "You've Got Fangirls" from glancing at a tennis match on TV X-D
Hm, will try to write IMR4MR 8 tomorrow (well, technically later today since it's almost 3 a.m. now).

This was the sight that he never forgot for the rest of his life.

A huge shadow, stretched wingtip to wingtip, moving across an orange sky that was otherwise untouched by even a wisp of cloud.

That was Draco Malfoy's first encounter with the creature that shares his name.

The eight-year-old solemnly announced to his bemused parents that he would head a dragon reservation one day.

The eleven-year-old immediately threw away his childhood dreams once he heard of the groundskeeper's pet dragon egg.

The fourteen-year-old secretly envied Potter for his chance to be near a dragon, to be under the threat of those vivid red flames.

The seventeen-year-old fervently wished that he could soar in the sky like that majestic dragon nine years ago.

Draco Malfoy was seventeen years old, but his only interests were Quidditch and Harry. One could call his dream excursions a pastime, but he did not consider it to be so. It was what he needed to maintain his sanity-his very existence.

All through summer he had been preparing for his reunion with his former friends in Slytherin. As a favour, Morpheus had taken the form of his friends in turn so that they could role-play Draco’s return to Hogwarts.

From Pansy Parkinson (Draco's former fiancée), Theodore Nott (Pansy's new fiancé), Blaise Zabini (the de facto Slytherin leader)-even Crabbe and Goyle (now Millicent's minions).

They repeated the illusory encounters over and over-Draco was not satisfied until he was sure that he did not unnecessarily show any weaknesses.

Morpheus always ended these sessions with a sympathetic arm around Draco's shoulders, and Draco would sometimes lean back quietly in this half-embrace.

He said nothing of these meetings to Harry.

FYI, "Dragon Flies" cookie: "Draco Malfoy: The Wizard Behind the Legend".
