Pain... in my toe

Dec 02, 2010 09:44

Were you aware that it is possible to bruise just your toe by your little toe?

And did you know that every toe is quite essential to you walking?

As luck [/sarcasm] would have it, I have found out the answer to both of these intriguing questions thanks to a run-in with the wall while leaving the bedroom this morning. I would like to think the floor was littered with stuff and it prevented me from walking correctly. I would like to think there was a dire need for me to rush out of the bedroom, not paying attention to where I was going. I would like to think I was holding some heavy object so my balance was off (I was holding a wet diaper, and while he is Sir Wets-a-Lot, it really was not that heavy.). I would like to think that I was holding the baby and he moved into one of his quick spasm-like motions convinced he can walk on his own, throwing me off the straight path out the door. But alas, my forward movement was blocked by nothing but my own impeccable sense of grace.

And I have perfect feet. Meaning, people with feet like mine are obviously shoe models as shoes often follow the continual downward slope of toes. My big toe is the largest and most protruding, and it goes down from there. And yet, my fourth toe, the one next to my little toe, is the one bruised and swollen to the size of one and a half toes.

The bittersweet news: not much will be done in the way of housework today.

bluh, fumbling the beginning of the day, grace
