My first Love
I was reading Revelation and something that really stood out to me was chapter2 the church of Ephesus.....they had deeds, hard work, perseverance, they did not tolerate wicked men, they stood strong and endured hardships for Christs name and yet the Lord warns them to repent...."You have forsaken your first love....repent and do the things you did at first" it seems as though they became lost in all of those other things and left the Lord, their first love, behind. The simplicity of just returning our focus solely on Christ and remembering our first love and the freedom that He brings is very powerful and

ive been taking the long way home
when you wanted to be alone
somehow some way
theres so much further for me to go

jesus take me to that place
where i first heard
of your love and saving grace
your perfect word
but for so long ive been distracted
and i acted like i knew
all it took to be like you,
thought i knew
why do i settle for my best
when you have so much more
i havent seen i havent heard
what you have in store
but like the deer who longs for water
my soul longs after you,
still theres so much i could do
