On Monday, Jaimee and I share our three-year anniversary. Since she'll be away at school that day, she came home this weekend and we decided to kick of the celebration early.
Amongst the gifts I gave her, I did a nice little art piece for her since I felt it was more personal. Here's the result:
Now I'm not much of a poet, but here's the poem that I wrote and attached:
The Rose
Beneath dark skies of gray
I've wandered this lonely road
until I saw a beauty
so marvelous to behold.
Cutting through the darkness
shone a beacon of white light,
calling me in closer
nothing else has felt more right.
The warmth of love surrounded me
as I walked deeper into the mists,
the air tasted so sweetly,
there was no way I could resist.
I strode up to the source
from which all this love arose,
and that's when the revelation hit me;
it was my one and perfect rose.
Spellbound by it's beauty
there's only one thing that I know,
as I pull it in so tightly
I plan to never let it go.
