My letter to Amazon: (Not LJ-cut because it isn't long.)
To Whom it May Concern,
I have been noticing, as most of the internet community has, that you have taken down items of what you label "adult" content. Most of these items are of the GLBT variety, and I am disgusted that Amazon.com would choose to alienate people in such a way as to strip their titles of rank and metaphorically shove them in the back closet. Violent books such as American Psycho (which has disturbing amounts of sex and violence throughout the novel) and numerous Playboy books are still on the list while Lady Chattery's Lover and Brokeback Mountain are shoved off? This makes no sense to me, nor the numerous people who have written articles about this sudden occurance.
Until rightful balance is restored on the website, I will no longer be supporting Amazon and instead purchasing what I require from other online vendors. I find it puzzling that you would choose to go through with such an action with the economy in the state it is as of now. I would not find it hard to imagine that a great number of people will stop linking and/or using your site, and highly suggest that you return things to their previous state.
Sincerely,
Kellie ---------.
I hope you all at least send an letter or call or something, because this is simple outrageous.
what the fuck is this?,
