So I saw these weird bug toys in the Target ad this morning, and they sounded weird enough that I wanted to go look at them and cheap enough that I thought I might buy one to see what it's all about.
So Shaun, Jack, Liz and I all got a Nano one and a starter habitat to share. And, for reasons I cannot comprehend, we all think this is the coolest toy that has come out in a long time. It's mostly a dumb gimmicky thing to get you to collect and trade lots of different colors and designs and stuff, but there's a little more to it than that.
The really cool part is that they have this site, where you register your bugs and play online games and such. It's cool because when you play games and do things on the site, you are constantly being exposed to science trivia bits, meaning that kids might actually learn something while they're playing. Amazing!
