Darn but I'm a sloth-filled little critter

I finally venture back into the world of LJ, spend some time backtracking over the f-list entries that I'm tremendously behind on. So I have done wondrous things today, nipped in a little at spring cleaning, cooked dinner and read LJ. Go me! I even scribble a drabble inspired by the ka100 list. It is the first bit of writing I've finished since NaNo.

Author's Name: Lilah
Title: Dread Knight
Word Count: 100
Warnings: none
Disclaimer: Arthur and his knights are not mine, but the stuff of legends instead.
Summary: Just a little snippet of viewpoint from an enemy soldier.
Author's Notes: This has a bit more of a medieval than movie flavor, but sometimes that's just the way the muses roll.

And, lo, there I saw him seated upon his dread steed looking down upon the battlefield as if it were a feast and he the guest of honor. Terror gripped my bowels and I trembled though my armor was strong, my shield stout, and my sword sharp. Though my liege lord was mighty I knew this day that his bloody defiance of the High King was at an end. When words failed to bring accord, the vassal kings would choose to forget that Arthur was a fell knight and the battlefield as much home as the high throne in Camelot.

I have been having a fun time playing in a Werewolf game, haven't even had to roll the dice. It's really super nice to have a game that isn't all about the next batch of baddies that you have to go through hours of combat rolls for. Also did my first round as storyteller for a Dark Ages Werewolf game, next up is the modern day reincarnations if I feel up to wrangling some of the most difficult stubborn rules lawyers imaginable. My only up is Werewolf is the game I'm most comfortable with background stuff wise, I just got to memorize all the rules that people like to tweak.

Still collecting old WoD books like a fiend whenever I get a chance. Latest additions are for Mummy, Hunter, Werewolf Wild West and the oh, so lovely Book of the Wyrm.

Video game wise I have learned that I so am not good at survival horror games, even though I love them. It took all of 2 minutes once I got out of the hospital in Silent Hill Origins for my poor little trucker to be straightjacket mincemeat. Shall have to try again after I achieve some more success at level builing on Xenosaga I. At least I know I can handle that.

Sidenote: Finally watched the Silent Hill movie, not bad overall. Nice idea to have a female-centric horror flick, but having loved the first game (didn't succeed in beating that one either, stupid door, stupid lock, and I couldn't find the clues) I was horribly disappointed that it wasn't the dad looking for daughter. Would have loved seeing Sean Bean be the primary hero rather than sort of an honorable accessory to the plot.
