Writer's Block: You and A Fictional Character of Your Choice
Right now, it would have to be Alfred Pennyworth. He's witty, resourceful and knows how to cook; what's not to like?
Let's learn a little bit about Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth. Alfred was in the British Intelligence Service (Secret Service for those who don't know) before becoming the butler for the Wayne family, as per his father's dying wish. His skills include first aid and minor surgery, nanotechnology, computing, engineering... erm, well, a lot of science, actually. He also is a pioneer in rose breeding and knows how to cook.
Well, maybe rose breeding wouldn't come in too handy on an island in the middle of nowhere, but his cooking certainly would, and all that time working hands-on for the government would give him some excellent knowledge on the worst-case scenario. And that scientific knowledge could come in pretty handy, too. And what's more, if I get injured and can't deal with it on my own, it's Alfred to the rescue!
Since I'm knowledgable when it comes to medical science and animals, and he's knowledgable in plants and surgery, we'd complement each other very well. We may occasionally clash, what with us both being sarcastic and all, but ol' loveable Alfred would at least be able to keep me company.
Alfred is way too much overlooked. Forget Captain Jack Sparrow (escaped the island because he got lucky) or Mr Darcy (he's not that pretty anyway). Give me the island, some everlasting soda and Alfred Pennyworth and I'll be one happy girl.
