Demons and Dragons... and randomness...
prettyfreckles' recent post about fandom wank, put me in mind of an article I read in Sunday's Saint Petersburg Times this week. It's about Florida's only female licensed gator trapper. Her name is Julie Harter and she kinda reminds me of Ellen Harville. She's 46, a grandmother, a widow, and a special needs teacher at a local high school... And she traps gators after school lets out. Pretty cool article... Check it out, with pictures, here.
In other news, the rain won't stop today, so looks like it's indoor things to do for me...

ETA: This would be more randomness... sylvanwitch has been an inspiration in recent months since I friended her for me to get off my ass and do something healthy. And isisfrog's get-up-and-go, can-do attitude has also prodded me in this direction. Thank you, ladies! So I'm looking into getting a treadmill. As much as I love to be outside, it just gets too hot here in the middle of the summer, and when it's not insanely hot, mosquitoes are swarming and they love me. I was just outside hanging laundry (thanks to the rain FINALLY having passed) for only maybe ten minutes and by the time I came in, I tell you, I'm just soaked in sweat (TMI, sorry). No way I can go biking or walking long distances in this kind of weather on a regular basis. It's just far too uncomfortable. So... a treadmill... for to be walking in the comfort of my living room while watching the boys on my tv and even reading fic on my computer. (Can life get any better? *sighs* I think not...) I've been searching for the past week or so, and good85karma suggested craigslist.org for an affordable used treadmill. So I think I have a lead on a good one and so might be getting one in the next couple of days. Wish me luck!
