For the first time in a while Monica groaned in protest as the sun sank beneath the horizon and she returned to wakefulness. She quickly re-oriented to being in her Jet’s cabin and one hand reached out to touch Viktor’s still chest while the other moved to rest on Warcrow’s Gladius. One step at a time, one breath at a time. The world must persist and I am a part of that, the rest is details to be worked through, one at a time.
She sighed and got up, pulling out the casual Legion uniform and throwing it on, a small part of her smiling at the subtle black embroidery her Seamstress had added into it. She scrubbed off her picture perfect make-up No need for that today and pulled her hair back into a quick ponytail before grabbing her bag, laptop and the sword . By then Vik was awake and they headed inside to see the Praetor.
On the way into the Praetor’s office Monica’s phone buzzed in her pocket, she glanced down at it Vibius, he can leave a message. But….I really need to go back to Little Rock and talk to him - so I might as well answer this first…. “Hello?”
Alder Vibius’s voice came through as Viktor glanced down at her and frowning. "Good evening, Miss Thibideaux. It has come to me that a tragedy has befallen two members of my house at a gathering you hosted in the city of Hot Springs. To sort this tragedy out and to find the villains who did this deed, I humbly ask your for you company. If you would be so kind as to tell me your current location, my driver will be along to pick you up. Ah, and I offer my hospitality to you for the duration of our visit. No harm shall befall you. Where might my driver pick you up?"
"My apologies Alder Priscus, but I'm afraid I'm a bit out of reach for your driver at the moment. I'd be glad to return to Little Rock to be your guest - but it will take me a day of travel - I'm out of town on business I'm afraid." Monica turned and headed back towards the exit without even so much as a glance towards the other Legionnaires there. "I'm not certain how much help I can be in the matter - I was in my office attempting to track down the woman who dropped the newly bitten vampire on our doorstep when Seneschal Bennet and Prince Dillingham were slain - and from the remains of the room, it seems there is no way to even read the emotional residue..."
Viktor goes ahead of Monica, she assumes to prepare the plane.
Vibius continues on, "I see, well I am empathetic to your situation. The city is in quite a state, and the sooner I can learn exactly what happened and why The Right Honarble Sir Prince and the Alder Seneshal were killed at the gathering you so graciously hosted, the better off all will be. If you are not to busy, perhaps you could answer a question or two for me?"
"Certainly Alder Priscus, I wish for the city to return to a stable state as soon as possible. If I can help, I will endeavor to do so." They hang up and she goes to the plane, planning on leaving to return to Little Rock.
However, when she arrives the pilots are looking at Viktor as if he’s going to chop them up and eat them, the door is laying far below on the tarmac and looks to have been hastily taken off by way of breaking the latches. She frowns in confusion and looks from them to Viktor and back to them. “We need to return to Little Rock - immediately.” The pilots stutter and stammer (looking often towards Viktor’s menacing presence) and apologetically explain that it’s impossible since the door is broken and she will have to wait until replacement parts can be found. What on earth happened here…?
OOC: When Viktor went to the plane:
Viktor went seeking out her mortal pilots. He activated Dread before stating rather slowly and deliberately to them, "Monica wishes to return to Little Rock. I feel that the safest course of action is for her to remain here. If you agree to take her there, for any reason whatsoever, I will kill you....after I force you to watch as I torture and kill your spouses and children, burn all you possess, and salt your land. I will eradicate you, and your familial lines, from this existence."
He then looked to the copilot and whispered quietly to him, "Go break the latching mechanism on the door, so the plane cannot fly. If you fail to do so, you may lose a job... and a limb."
He then backed up, and just stared at them....narrowing his eyes and waiting.
