Let's recall my day, shall we?
5:30am -- Wake up...the body was not invented to rise before the sun
6:05am -- Bus to MK
6:36am -- Arrive at MK
6:45am -- Check in for 7am...and immediately dispatched to Crystal Palace (more affectionately known as the Crystal Prison.)
7:05am -- Warm-ups
I arrive at the break room and I was taken upstairs to get a walking tour of the rotation by one of my companions. After staring at the rotation on the board and walking it myself, I felt like I needed to be handed a paper map and a pen so I could draw in all of the arrows. I quickly dubbed the Crystal Palace the "final exam of character dining."
Four sets, lunch, then three more sets.
Honestly, it wasn't that bad. The rotation is pretty crazy, but Pooh Bear is pretty fun indoors. The A/C helps keep his fur dry and he is loved by everyone he sees. Pooh also enjoyed having tables to sign on. Unfortunately, since there are so many tables in the restaurant, the Love-n-Shove system is pretty popular. But still, Pooh did his very best to make each moment as special as he could.
The Crystal Palace holds a special place in my heart. It was the very first place I ever met a character...and my first Disney character was Winnie the Pooh.
Pooh had several families tell him that he was their first character, or that this was their last meal of the trip and wanted to make sure they came to see him because he was their favorite. Today, he got to sign baseball hats, a stuffed Pluto, and two mats for picture frames. (And, as he laughs, Pooh wants to curse out the person who invented the tiny Mickey Mouse pen with the stars and Mickey's head on top...the pen the size of a human middle finger.) Pooh Bear and friends also signed about 700 birthday cards, today!
Oh, and I got my schedule for two weeks out and I'm so excited!! It's a great week, full of lots of dining and a brand new restaurant for Pooh Bear.
Hip-hip-hooray for Winnie the Pooh!
And Piglet, too!
