I'm not going to lie...today was one of the most nerve-racking days I've had in a long time. It definitely had its ups and downs. Eddie called around midnight to let me know that he received his care package I mailed him before vacation, which was good news. It was nice to hear from a familiar face. We can't talk as much as we used to since I have to be in bed so early.
I got up and made it to the bus. I was nervous about riding on my own when I climbed on and saw Ben, Rob, Crystal, and Liddy! All on their way to DAK to see Libbi and me. :) It was the neatest thing to ride to work with them. My training group is made of the very BEST people in the world. They completely put me at ease. It was hard to say good-bye since they wouldn't be coming with me, but it was only for the moment.
I clocked, checked, and changed. One of the things I love about my job is that I am paid to workout every morning. Just enough of a workout that I feel ready for my job and like I'm actually helping my body. Today was my spare day, but I found out that I was going to get to spend the whole day with Winnie the Pooh. :) The duty captain had a very nice guy named Barrett show me around today. (Barrett is approved friends with Caspian, Phillip, Charming, and Eric. Wow!)
Pooh Bear is a lot of fun, despite the fact that I think he needs to go to the eye doctor. He's always got a rumbly in his tumbly and thoroughly enjoyed his honey pot on set. He gave himself the nickname of the "British Mickey Mouse" today because so many visitors from the UK came to see him. One of Pooh's favorite memories of the day was his very first guest...a little blind boy. Pooh helped the boy feel how soft his fur was and gave him a very gentle hug. He also held hands with a little princess and walked with her down the exit line. My friends Rob, Ben, Crystal, and Liddy all came to see Pooh, too! They were very excited and shared lots of great big hugs and took pictures.
