Bibbidi-bobbidi-diddle-dee-dee-zip-a-dee-doo-dah-docious!
Wow...so much happening in such a short amount of time! I'm hoping that one of these days I can get back to updating this on a more weekly basis. But lately I'm just running around like an idiot trying to get everything done.
Disney still has my hours capped, which is still a drag. But thankfully my friend Larkin just had her cap lifted. So maybe mine will come off, soon. I decided this week that once Disney lifts my cap, I'm probably going to cap myself so that this doesn't happen again. And, until that full-time call comes...if it comes...I'm going to try to find a second job that will fit in well with Disney.
And right now, that doesn't appear to be Sylvan. I'm not really enjoying myself. Sylvan is slowly reminding me of all of the reasons why I'm not pursuing teaching full-time. Granted, the lesson plans and everything are done for me, but I don't have any time to relax with the kids and have fun. It's all about deadlines, deadlines, deadlines. I've started thinking that this week I might start searching for that day care position again. The pay won't be as good, but it would allow me to actually play with the kids instead of drilling them on their antonyms. I might also take a friend's advice and apply for recreational assistance and various hotels. It's the same sort of concept...you set up activities and just play with the kids. And since it is through a hotel, hopefully the pay will be a little more.
Anyway. While I'm juggling Disney and Sylvan, I'm still in the opening phases of Amateur Dramatics. We have blocked both of my one acts and we're slowly starting to work on characterization. One of the guys in my cast had to drop out, so the subcast guy is moving up. This role was one of the two men who proposes to me. It's not that I don't like the new guy coming in to my cast. I do, very much. I just think it's going to be awkward with him as opposed to the guy who dropped, who I actually had a bit of chemistry with. Oh, well. It's the theater and these things happen.
Meanwhile, I have my first Encore rehearsal in 8 days. They sent us the music and mp3 files last night and I about died from pure happiness. I knew the majority of the songs we were going to be singing, but I wasn't expecting these orchestrations. Last night, I saw sheet music I have only dreamed about looking at...versions of songs I've been listening to for years and I'm speechless that I'm going to get to sing these orchestrations. I cannot wait to start rehearsals!!!
Clara will be here in about 10 more days. I'm not going to move my things over to the master bedroom until she arrives. We're trying to figure out how we're going to set things up because I have a full bed plus my dresser and then we still have to fit in her bed. The master bedroom isn't that much bigger than mine, so it's probably going to be a tight squeeze. But I'm confident we'll make it work.
I've also been online looking at ads for cheap tables and sofas so we can get some more furniture. Thankfully, Erin is bringing back some more plates and things when she goes home this weekend. I've seen some really pretty prints at Jo Ann's that I'd love to get for the apartment, but that all comes with time. The good news about this move is that I know I'll have a wish list for my mom when my birthday rolls around. :)
Oh, and on another side note, I started a new workout program with Crystal called INSANITY. The name is very fitting of the program. Instead of calm exercise with a sudden burst of hardcore aerobics, Insanity is the opposite: hardcore and a quick thirty seconds of water every now and then. Every fifteen days, we do a fitness test to see if we're improving. The program is supposed to tone your body in 63 days. Today is day 4. I'm looking forward to having my measurements taken again. The bulk of the pain I'm feeling after these workouts comes in my lower back, my calves, and my knees. There's a lot of jumping involved and I'm doing my best not to destroy my knees by landing improperly. At this rate, I will have my toned body by the middle of July.
Well, I must hop in the shower. Josh is coming over and we're doing a Chipotle run for lunch!
