Christina Aguleria's song "Candyman" has been stuck in my head since John's birthday when I saw the music video. I think I fell in love with the video first and then the song. It's the same general tune of "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," but modern and raunchy. I love the song. One of few modern songs I really like. But I adore the video! It's set in WWII and Christina plays all of these women who have come in to entertain the troops. It makes me want to do a 40's night out so badly!
Anyway. *giggle* I'm in a good mood this morning. Doesn't happen all too often that I'm bubbly when I first wake up. (My mom is reading this to herself back home, laughing and thinking, "She's right.") Well, here's the update.
Christmas parade still continues to go on. It was announced yesterday that they've added two more parades to the end of the week, so the parade will run twice a day until the end of the week. CDCT returns on Sunday. Tiana's Showboat Jubilee ends this week, too, so get out and see it if you haven't gotten the chance. It's brilliant and I love it! I'm going to try to see it on my lunch breaks this week.
I've had some really good days this week with some incredible people. My highlight each day has been my phone calls from Rob in New York. He'll be back next week. I'm finding time to text Crystal and talk to Jason, too. It's nice to feel like your family isn't too far away. And I love getting to see Ben at MISICI each morning, too. And Wes is in town visiting for a week. We put him up at our place a few nights ago. It was a fun sleepover!
Two days ago, I had my "date night" with Cole. We went to go see "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" It's not a showstopper, but it's cute. Can't say no to Hugh Grant fighting off grizzly bears. :) Then we walked around Downtown Disney together and got a late night dinner at Olive Garden. It was a really sweet night. Cole is an absolute doll. He knows what I like and how to make me happy. After a long day at work, seeing him is always icing on the cake.
Speaking of cake, last night was Josh's birthday. I still remember taking him out to Macaroni Grill last year with Rob, Crystal, and Jason, right before our CP ended. This year, I did something a little different. I was trying to get us into Garden Grill all week, but they were booked solid. So, instead we got a little dressed up and I wouldn't let him open his eyes until we arrived at the Mall at Millenia for our dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. I found out from a little birdie he loves cheesecake and was astonished that he had never eaten there. We had an amazing dinner -- potstickers, asian noodles, chicken romano, and lots and lots of cheesecake. :) Afterward, we decided to putz around the mall together. Our bargains were found at Macy's. Josh found this gorgeous vest that was on sale. It's such an attractive black vest and looks great on him.
My story will take it's own paragraph. :) Have you ever seen something in a store that you liked and then went back a few weeks later and found it was still there, like it was waiting for you? Well, that was last night. The last time Josh and I went to Millenia, we were playing "Dress Up Nikki" with the dresses in Macy's. Among the ones I tried on was this beautiful purple dress. Tube top-type, sort of draped, but with this gorgeous cluster of flowers on the hip. It had fit so well in a size 7! But it was way out of my price range, so I put it back.
Last night when we walked into Macy's, there it was...right up front where everyone could see it on the sale rack. The very last one left...in a size 7. We took it and two new ones to try on. The others weren't bad, but didn't feel overly comfortable. But that size 7 purple fit like a glove...like it was made for me, like it had been sitting on the line waiting for me to come back and claim it as my own.
(Picture from the first visit.)
Anyway, I need to get going...but I hope everyone reading this is doing well. Much love!!
~Nikki
P.S. I know the new year hasn't officially started yet, but I'm making a good effort right away. This morning, I decided to up my student loan payments by $10 a month. It's not much, but every little bit helps.
