"Once upon a Christmastime at Christmas..."

Dec 20, 2008 23:38

Just a really quick update.  Short and sweet.

I am in the middle of the best schedule on Earth.  I am beyond pumped.  Not a fan of the thought of being at MK at 6:30am, but it's so going to be worth it when I see pictures of Dale on the Welcome Train wearing his scarf and sparkly blue vest.  Three days of it!  And I'm really looking forward to Christmas at the palace.  I get to spend New Year's Eve at SOPHD, I think.  And I'm trying to get out of my New Year's Day shift.  After all, the first is the last day everyone is going to be in town and I want to have the day to spend time with everyone.

Oh, fun news!  A puppetry workshop was announced today.  The kicker is that it's from 8am-10am on the day I'm supposed to switch apartments.  I'm supposed to get my new key at 10am and drop off my old key by 11.  (Yeah, crazy, huh?)  I'm going to talk to housing to see if there's a way that can be worked around.

Oh, and I randomly got a package that contains "perishable liquid."  I have no idea who is sending me things, but thank you.  :)  The bad news is that the mailroom couldn't refrigerate it for me and I won't be able to get it until after work tomorrow.  But the thought is surely appreciated.

Last night, I went to a Christmas party for the cast of Pooh's Playground and friends.  It was hosted by Holly.  It was a lot of fun and brought back some fraternity memories.  I also discovered that I do enjoy flip cup.  lol  We spent about an hour or so just telling stories from work.  But that's what happens when you get entertainment people together.

And Walgreens printed off my pictures for my scrapbook.  After I get off work tomorrow, I have a feeling I'm going to take a much needed nap, help return the Christmas movies, and possibly work on my scrapbook and write out some things.

Speaking of Christmas movies, I watched the musical version of "A Christmas Carol" and also "It's a Wonderful Life."  True to form, I started crying at the end of "Life."  But that's been going on for a while.  One of my favorite quotes comes from that movie.  Clarence writes it in the book he gives to George Bailey.  It says:

"Remember: no man is a failure who has friends."

And on that note, I bid you good-night.

Nutty but nice,
Nikki
