"Bless us all who gather here, the loving family I hold dear."

More about Thanksgiving '08.

I woke up this morning to a call from my mom, wishing me a happy holiday.  Immediately, my roommates put on the Macy's parade and I enjoyed it...for about 15 minutes.  I got to see the Broadway cast of "White Christmas" and "South Pacific."  I rode the bus to the Studios with Eric, who was one of my attendants today.  We had fun talking.  After I warmed up, I waited at the Toy Box for as long as I possibly could before walking down to Monsters, Inc.  I missed Idina, but I caught the Buzz Lightyear balloon, which was pretty cool.  Apparently, there was a Bolt float.  Sad day because I missed it.  But, oh well.

It was a fun day at Monsters.  I spent the day with Gabby, D, Eric, and Mel, and of course with Mike and Sulley.  It was so cute because Josh decked out the break room.  He wrapped the refrigerator and various walls with paper and wrote tags (ex. from Celia (schmoopsy-poo) to Mike (googaly-bear)).  And he hung tiny ornaments from the ceiling and had tiny trees.  It made me wish I had things at my apartment so I could decorate for Christmas.

The crowd was actually very steady, which is odd for Monsters.  Monsters is all the way down the Streets of America, literally in the back of the park.  Lately, the crowds have been so slow that sometimes Mike wanders down the Streets of America.  Okay, only about 20 feet, but enough to draw crowds away from the Power Rangers, the Backlot Tour, and the stunt show.  (hehe!)  Today, Mike never had the chance to do that.  Some families were super adorable and were wishing Mike and Sulley a Happy Thanksgiving.

There was a potluck at the Toy Box, so I went during lunch to grab food.  I had turkey, cranberry chutney, pumpkin pie, an apple tart, two pumpkin spice muffins, and my own homemade mashed potatoes and stuffing.  It was yummy!!

Throughout the day, I got texts from my friends and family, wishing me the best of the holidays.  Among them were people saying that they were full, people saying that they were drunk (*rolls eyes*), and others.  Here are some of my favorites:

-- Happy Thanksgiving!  Thanks for being part of my non-biological family!

-- Happy Thanksgiving from the United States Marine Corps!!

-- Happy Thanksgiving, girl!!  Kill the turkey!!

-- Happy eat turkey and pass out day!  Love you!

-- Happy Turkey Day to you too!  Gobble to your wobble!  I missed the parade because I'm at work, too.  No one should be allowed to be sick on Thanksgiving.  Or Christmas.

-- Happy Thanksgiving from the Buckeye state!

-- I'm so happy God blessed me by having you as a friend in my life.  Happy Thanksgiving!

And, dear readers, that is what I am thankful for.

Peace and love,
Nikki
