Wow, my sleeping schedule is so messed up! Took a 6-hr nap from 4-10pm. I had only slept for 7 hrs in the past 48 hours... I'm still sleepy now and will be sleeping again in a bit.
Despite feeling tired after my 4-hr lab on Thurs, I went out to the Tidal Basin alone to relax. It was a gorgeous day with temps in the 70s. I took some food and a sketch book and blanket and chilled by the bank for a couple of hours. It was so nice. I had never sketched before and for some reason, I was feeling creative. I had my sketch book and pencils from ceramics class and I tried to sketch some trees and the monument. Of course, my skill level is at the beginning level and it took a long time to sketch one tree. By the time I had to leave, my drawing was very incomplete. But it felt good. I might do that again soon. I was also surprised to see that the flowers remained even after 2 weeks. The tulip garden was in full bloom too. So pretty.
Had dinner with Joe at Cafe Asia to catch up. It's good to know his accomplishments and the direction he's going. I feel like he's my child and he calls me Mommy! Haha. He was my resident last year...
My fave professor, Dr. Morris, got an award for Excellence in Teaching! I'm so proud. And he was the only one who had a groupie at the awards ceremony. There were about 8 of us undergrads cheering him on. All the other faculty members were definitely jealous! He reallllly deserves it too. He's been working here for 20 years and he teaches about 6 classes every semester and still manages to give one-on-one advise. We all love him. But the dept and the school don't because he doesn't take all the administrative crap. He's really smart but he's super modest too. He was so embarrassed that he got an award. We went to congratulate him afterwards and his face was all red. So cute! We even got to meet his family which was super cool. We felt so privileged because all the Bio students want to know about his life and WE, the elite squad, got to talk to his family. And we even got a pic with him! ^______^ Haha. Afterwards, we played frisbee for a while in the gorgeous weather. I haven't played in so long.
Ok, this post's getting long...will post again about the rest of the weekend. So much more to talk about and I'm getting sleepy again. -_- Haha.
