The first book for my new Kindle
I just got a Kindle, which I love already. I love paper books, but I also love the idea of being able to carry around a library's worth of books. I also love it as a product, but that's a whole 'nother discussion.
Of course, I wanted to download a book...and paralysis set in. Which book? There are so many! Oooh look, there's one I haven't got yet, there's the next in this series, etc. I didn't buy any of those, though, because (and this will probably sound dumb) I wanted my first book to be not a new one, but a beloved favorite book. So, the first book on my new Kindle begins with the words:
There was a wall.
Bonus points if you can identify the author and book.
