Teenagers & Love
So I have a few younger Teen friend on Facebook. Not nessacarily a good thing, as I find I have to censor myself a fair bit. But they are the Children of Besties, and they seem to like me (for the most part!) I get to be an Aunty I guess LOL
Anyhows, I have noticed recently how much young girls are expressing themselves on FB with the 3 little (yet BIG!) words that can change lives!
Miss 14, Who is a beautiful girl, says I Love You to her boyfriend of 2/3 weeks quite regaularly.
Its had me thinking why?
Its not Just Miss 14 who does it either. I am seeing more and more of these posts and I am holding back from asking the big questions/
Why are these girls saying to guys who they dont know that well, who are only in the begining of relationships, What is makign them say I Love You so soon?
I dont want to think that they are desperate for Love and Attention, although I am sometimes wondering if this is the case.
Is it just me who thinks that this IS a big deal?
I dont remember telling any guy I loved them until a few months in to our relationships, and I have only said it to maybe 3 guys? At the time I thought I ment it with 2 of them too. Not to mention I was the first to say it too.
If she only said it occasionally I may think it wasnt anything worth thinking twice about, But she is saying this nearly every day. She IS only young, and She is family to me, so I do worry about whats going on and how shes feeling.
When did it become ok for this to be said so soon though?
What does this mean for girls of the future? Do i expect my 10 year old to be telling boys that she loves them?
I hope not!
Do I question her Mum about it? I dont even think it bothers Parents these days.
I do feel like I am being a worry wart for nothing,
Do the words not become meaningless eventually though? If I heard them 10 times a day I would think that they would lose their special-ness abit. How does the boyfriend feel in all of this too? If you believe all the hype about those 3 words from movies and such then you wold think he woudl be runnig for the Hills! HAHAHAHA!
I feel like I am a bit old fashioned, maybe this is the thing these days. Maybe its just part of being a teen now?
