airplanes and shooting stars

This weekend was great. For a few weeks now Morgan has been saying she wants to purchase a kiddie pool and plant it in her front yard. Well, on Saturday this mission was finally accomplished. We baked in the sun for several hours. I was the only one who came with a bathing suit and towel in hand. There was a folk show just three doors down so we went to see what it was all about. The opening band played songs about cheap wine at trader joe's, extra large love, and tattooed business women. naturally i found myself on the porch with my new secret pop star (hannah montana) bracelet on my wrist and a cigarette between my fingers. i talked to a cute boy and the night ended well.

in the morning we all went to our house for brunch. they have great morning specials compiled of omelettes and white russians. five days from now i will live a hop and a skip from it all. it's a strange thing to visit the bars before noon. we lounged and watched an animated film about a mouse.

i have that summer feeling and can already foresee it being fantastic. something corporate will play the house of blues, there will be swimming, best friends, cute boys, porches, beers, a road trip, and oh so many wonderful things this season.

so go on and bring on the sun.
