Today was a beautiful day: the fantasy of a perfect New England day on the first real snow. Denise, who works in the deli, told me that she would be downtown this morning seeing the new pedestrian bridge being installed. I did not make it down there at 8AM. I woke a couple of hours later than that, and was delighted to see that snow had fallen, and all outdoors was lightly dusted with maybe an inch of snow: enough to call it a real snowfall.
dawgboi found
evidence of a certain elf having been and left us holiday cookies and candies. They arewere delicious. A few remain. I bet they are too, but will have to eat them to be sure.
rexlezard, who is featured in some of the
photographic evidence,
dawgboi and I drove out to the farm where we have a winter share, and picked up our rutabagas and such. There was some u-pick kale, covered with snow, and as I have read recently in
a blog entry that
rexlezard pointed me to, snow-kissed kale is the best.
dawgboi has recently put his shiny new "Eat More Kale" bumper sticker on the Civic. When I have access to a camera, I want a picture of me crouched near that bumper with a big "thumbs up" for the kale sentiment.
To round out a perfect day, I ate yummy turkey cacciatore leftovers, had delicious sex twice, biked to the gym in the light snow, rocked the deadlift, hugged Monty and Andy, my kitchen is clean, and my larder is full.
