Due to my really, really awful day, I decided to make a post of things that make me happy. And since it's thrown together quickly, it's basically made up of the things that make me smile the most in my American Idol folder.
Even if you don't like or know anything a about Idol, come on in and get a smile. For me? :D
Kris' squee!face compels you. (SRSLY, HOW IS HE REAL?)
God, I love this show. Which, obviously. But this season. Makes me smile in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. I could go on and on for pretty much ever, but this hastily thrown together (and sadly under-representing of everyone who isn't Kris) picspam will have to do instead!
This is the Best Top 7 EVER: Danny, Allison, Anoop, Matty-in-the-middle, Kris, Adam and Lil. I miss Scott, Megan and Sarver here but it was SO CUTE, so.
1. KRIS ALLEN MAKES ME SMILE
(aka: The Longest Section, but its SO WORTH IT)
I'll start with the thing that makes me smile most about this season, our American Idol: KRISTOPHER NEIL ALLEN.
(...he's been waiting for awhile. And there is no end in sight.)
He makes me smile by somehow managing to be A) effing adorable
B) SO SMOKING HOT
and C) the biggest dork ever at the same time.
Also, he holds babies (with onesies that prophetically say My "Uncle" is the Next American Idol):
And has a jaw that goes wonky off to the right when he sings the big notes:
No, srsly. It's been deemed the "Dino Jaw" and Anoop even teased him about it on air (I SMILE SO HARD WHEN I EVEN THINK OF THIS):
Kris makes me smile with his ridiculous Tweets:
And even more ridiculously precious faaaaaces:
Kris makes me smile when he comes to my place of employment and hangs out with my boss' girlfriend:
Pre-Idol!Kris made me smile when he dressed up like this sometime in college and let someone take a photo so it would be lolarious when he was on a reality show in a few years and was EXACLTY his new roommate's type:
Pre-Idol Kris made me smile when on his mission trips no boy/girl canoodling was allowed, so he did THIS instead (he's in the white):
And when he wore a WOLF SHIRT and tried to look fierce:
Kris is very tiny so he's often referred to in some circles as the Pocket Idol. He has an equally tiny and adorable wife, Katy, who is (of course) referred to as Polly Pocket. Together, they make me smile TWICE AS MUCH and are called... the Hot Pockets:
They made me smile AND cry after Kris won:
Kris' ENTIRE FAMILY is kick awesome and smile-inducing, actually. They group-hugged during Kris' Top 3 Homecoming trip:

2. Adam Lambert makes me smile
My all-time most smile-inducingly favorite photo of Adam Lambert:
Adam's family is SO AMAZING. I want them to adopt me, no lie. I would smile forever. JUST LOOK AT THEM (bb!Adam puts the 'Y' in "Y2K'):
At the show in Little Rock, Adam signed the chests of Kris' brother Daniel's cheerleading buddies. WHAT IS THIS CANON?!?:
Also, Adam Lambert was like, made for macros. These three NEVER cease to make me smile:
1. KRADAM MAKES ME SMILE
I love Kris and I love Adam but I ~LOVE~ their friendship. All slashing aside (but believe me, that's fun too!), the fact that these two dudes who couldn't be more different in so many ways -but are so alike some very important ways, too- could become such good friends is kind of amazing and surely brings the smiles just to think about. They certainly didn't invent the concept of a straight, married guy and a gay guy who are both quite comfortable in their own sexualities being close, physically affectionate friends. But they are a really great public example when the world doesn't have too many right now and that makes me smile.

They make me smile by having mastered the faceplant!hug (this is the reaction right after Kris made the Top 3):
Right before the Top 3 Homecoming visits, Adam painted one of Kris' thumbnails dark blue and Adam removed the polish from one of his on thumbnails, so they could take a piece of each other home with them. Also, they wanted to show their solidarity and friendship, so they kept it for the show and compared thumbs on TV. CAN MY SMILE POSSILBY BE BIGGER:
I don't think I stopped smiling for the entire two night finale and it was all their fault:
Right after the finale came the Epic Tackle Hug. This is the first time they saw each other after Kris won:
There have been two specifically amazing moments in post-show, pre-tour press. The first was a reporter asking which bunk they would pick on the bus. Adam replied "I like the top" and then this happened:
And then after a fan gave Kris headphone splitters ("So Adam and I can listen to music together and cuddle after the shows" - NOTE: the gift-giver DID NOT say "cuddle"; that was all Kris), Adam says "I think they are clearly misinterpretting our friendship AND THEN KRIS DOES THIS:
WHAT. WHAT. HOW ARE THEY REAL? SO MANY SMILES.

I don't even know what to do in my brain with how much this kid makes me smile. Here's a sample:
When he was surprised in the Wildcard show as being the THIRTEENTH member of the TOP TWELVE, his reaction was pretty much my reaction too, because I was SO HAPPY:

6. THEIR FRIENDSHIPS MAKE ME SMILE
