What's new?

As of late, I'm working out, getting artsy, and reading comics.

I worked out for 6 days straight last week (took Sunday off and even had some ice cream! Hehe, I deserved it...) and doing it again this week. As usual, I can see the difference first in my face and my torso.  Maybe my calves too.  It tends to work from top/bottom towards the middle-hips and thighs are slow! Where I need it most!

I bought some acrylic paint and canvas on sale from the Art Supply Warehouse.  Gonna try my hand at painting...surprised I haven't done this earlier in my life.  It was mostly pencil-drawn portraits.  I'll try objects first and then move onto to the portraits.  But if you count the first one I'm doing of my dog Vincent, then I'm starting on portraits.

Trying to read Watchmen.  I really find it difficult to read comics, especially wordy ones.  I like short and sweet stuff like PBF, not drawn-out storylines, but I'm trying.  Chris asked Rob (who is, incidentally, of Pinback) what he thought of that, and he goes, "Man, that comic is boring!"

"But it's good!"

"Yeah, it's good, but it's boring! Why don't you have her start out with Dark Knight or something"

(While standing in line for a hardcore show,  Rob fiddled around with a Rubix cube and solved it once or twice, which I thought was amazing. )

Before I left SD, Chris gave me "girl-friendly" comics, Dork and Ghost World.  Just looking at the slim size of the two, I think I'll enjoy them more than Watchmen.

I also got an interview to teach at an adult center in SD for people with cerebral palsy.  I'm hoping to be able to observe a typical day there to get a better idea of what it's like.  I worry that I'm gonna be in over my head, but I'm gonna find out as much info as I can before making any decisions...
