unemployment is sexy
I took advantage of a $0 initiation fee promo by rejoining 24 hr fitness. I had cancelled it before I left for Brazil and now I see poundage. I signed Sonya up too, hoping she can figure out a way to cancel her Bally's membership, but she has til Friday to decide and still get the deal. It'd be nice to go with her when I'm here in FV and then when I'm in SD I plan to work out with Chris. The dude signing me up makes small talk and asks what I do.
"I'm unemployed at the moment..."
"Oh! So what did you used to do?"
blah. blah.
I make sure that Sonya can back out of this thing painfree...
"Well when you or she comes back in, you can talk to Jayson over there since I'm leaving for the military tomorrow"
"Oh! Wow..."
"Yeah I'm in the Marine Corps. and doing my last 2 weeks. I've been doing it for 6 years..."
"Six years is a long time...(I think back to me and Will, 6 years) congrats on almost finishing that up! That's a lot of hard work.."
I'm pretty much ready to leave cuz I don't like sitting around with all this paperwork to do and me sitting there feeling kinda lame.
Finally he wraps things up and offers me his card and rewrites a whole bunch of stuff since he and Jayson have transferred from another 24 hr.
"And there's my cell phone also if you have any other questions. You can call me anytime on it and I'll pick up"
Ok! leave feeling pretty sure that I've been picked up on. I really don't understand how coming in overweight and with no makeup and no job can help me score! Chris had also asked me out knowing very well that I had no job. "So what do you do?"
"I'm a slacker-I have no job right now"
"Oh! in that case, do you want to grab lunch tomorrow?"
