and we're never going to survive, unless we get a little crazy...

I forgot how much I loved writing in here. Going back over the scattered posts I made over the last year has makes it obvious....it really is the little things in life. One post a while ago mentions a sandstorm on PCH. I would have never remembered that sandstorm if it weren't for the fact that I had mentioned it in here and just happened to go back and read that. Now I have that image back- beautiful sand twirling all over the street, nature juxtaposed with concrete city life so exquisitely. Thats what I love about where I live, its the perfect meeting of city bustle with nature without being too much of either one. Lets face it, i'm a total wimp around bugs.
I'm going to try to start writing in here more often, its very theraputic. I think if it weren't for writing, both in here and my paper journals, I probably wouldn't have made it out of high school. Thats a scary thought.
Today was filled with little things that made me happy. For the benefit of all involved (its 1:30 am and i've been working since 8:30 am this morning!) i'll list instead of describe:
-waking up before my alarm and getting to lie in bed and enjoy the sunshine for a while
-getting to work in 4 minutes as opposed to ten
-being able to have a few minutes to myself before having to work hard
-getting 8 tables in 10 minutes and NOT freaking out
-witty banter with rachel at work
-making fun of silvio and having him make fun of rachel and i back
-puss in boots aka miguelito and his besos
-the fun people who come to patricks and make my presence there worthwhile
-the wonders of technology. i watched an old high school classmate on youtube on broadway this afternoon. i did my first musical with her and now she's going to be famous. so fantastic.
-my dream car: gun metal grey aston martin dbs, followed by a fire engine red ferrari!
-randomly good music- moondance and singing dancing in the moonlight with negar at work
-hey mama!
-some good wine and good company
-the brothaaaa from chicaaaaago and the fancy beamer

All these things are mostly just small things, but if you have enough of them they just about make your day. There is so much beauty around us, its almost unbelieveable but we're so focused who said what and how much money is in our bank accounts (im guilty here too) and who's holy land is who's that we forget to love those who are close to us and admire the beauty of a sandstorm or the sheer magnitude of an earthquake. Life is too short to go through angry at the world.

In other news, I miss the magnitism of that fantastic poli sci prof that shows me the way and those fun people I spent all fall hanging out with. Most importantly, I'm going to miss Sasha Pick like no tomorrow for the next month but shes going to have a splendid time in south america taking cold showers, I'm sure!

For nobody in particular, but I feel this all the same:
Cover me with kisses, baby
Cover me with love
Roll me in designer sheets
I'll never get enough
Emotions come I don't know why
Cover up love's alibi
Call me on the line
Call me call me any anytime
Call me oh my love
When you're ready we can share the wine

In l'italiano, tutti é molto bene........

or something like it, life
