TOUCH SCREENS SUCK. I'm just sayin'. I decided against the iPhone because of budgetary issues, and went with the Samsung Impression. It was a hellacious relationship that lasted Friday through Tuesday. The Impression was like dating an extremely hot man with lots of yummy muscles and not a brain in his head. It felt so nice to slide out the ( Read more... )

You may have to calibrate the touchscreen, or have you tried that already?

Scott just ordered our (4, count em 4) new phones last night. Keeping fingers crossed that they won't drive us nuts. We do the online ordering because he gets and IBM discount that way.

Yes, I recalibrated it a few times. It seems to work fine as long as I use my thumbnails, but what happens when I rip a nail off? That is an inevitable occurrence for me.

I hope you guys like your phones!

That sucks! I have a Samsung Instinct that I love. Maybe you should go with the iPhone after all?

No, I don't want the added expense of an iPhone, so I still think I made the right choice to not buy it. I think if I keep working with the Solstice, I'll start speaking its language.

The only touch screen I've been able to live with is the one on my iPod... we have good days and bad days, that iPod and I.

My work-issued phone is a Samsung Jack which I LOVE. It has no touch screen and I can use the buttons to navigate everywhere. No idea how expensive it is or anything though. :( My personal phone is a cheap little thing from Virgin Mobile. Sorry this has been such a frustrating experience!

Hmm. The Jack is one of my options, but I think it's classified as a smart phone and therefore requires the same added expenditure that the iPhone does. *sad*

NO KIDDING. I just wanted a phone, dangit! All this extra stuff is silly.

But I'm afraid that in the near future, all we will have to choose from are smart phones that do everything from walk the dog to mow the lawn (I wish) and I think it's good practice for now to try to figure out a dumbed-down version of a smart phone. For learnin'.
