Then Bryce’s dream took her back to the day of her and Jason’s graduation. The seniors had to be at school an hour before the ceremony was supposed to start. Bryce and Jason got there a little early so they wandered around the school for a few minutes. As they were walking into the cafeteria, where all the other seniors were, Jason put his arm around Bryce and kissed her cheek. Everyone was lining up within 15 minutes of arriving. Before they knew it the ceremony was over. Bryce and Jason talked to some of their friends before heading back to Bryce’s house for a small family party. Later that night Bryce and Jason were meeting up at the class’ graduation party. Bryce started to get ready an hour before she was supposed to leave for the party. When she was finally dressed she had on a short denim skirt with a light green halter top under a white sweatshirt with green flip flops. All she had on for make up was mascara and a little lip gloss. On the way to the party Bryce got stuck in traffic, by time she got there she was a half hour late. Bryce tried to find Jason but had no luck so she stopped to talk to some of her friends. While she was talking to Hayden she saw Jason out of the corner of her eye. He was talking with a girl that Bryce didn’t recognize. As Bryce walked over to Jason she saw Jason put his arm around the girl as she put her head on his shoulder and slipped her arm around his waist. Bryce turned around and rushed past Hayden and the rest of her friends. Hayden followed Bryce out to her car and climbed in the passenger’s side.
“Bryce, what happened?”
“Jason was with some other girl”
“Who was it?”
“I don’t know but they had their arms around each other” Bryce said before starting to cry. Hayden tried to comfort Bryce but was having no luck.
“Bryce why don’t you let me drive you home and we can come get your car tomorrow”
“I can’t I’m leaving for Connecticut tomorrow”
“Leaving?” Hayden asked extremely shocked.
“Yeah, I’m moving into an apartment with a couple roommates and working until school starts”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because we just decided last week when my cousin called me and said that two of her friends were looking for a third roommate for their apartment that’s a little under an hour away from campus”
“But you still didn’t tell me”
“I know I’m sorry, I tried but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I didn’t tell anyone other than my parents”
“oh”
“You can come visit me though” Bryce said smiling a little
“Okay, lets go back to your house and I’ll help you finish packing”
“Okay, thanks” Bryce said hugging Hayden before she backed out of the drive way and headed back to her house. Bryce and Hayden were up most of the night packing all of Bryce’s things. The next morning Hayden helped Bryce pack everything into her car. Bryce dropped Hayden off at the party so she could get her car. Then Bryce drove to Connecticut and moved into her new apartment.
