[ The contents of this book are off screened and hidden away somewhere in Heliud. They are written by the child soldier Hoshi, who's spent three years in Heliud disguised as a boy to endure the hardships of this war.
This is her story of what happened in Heliud. ]
The fight for water is a tough one. People will do whatever is necessary to survive. To remain alive. However, it is with this that some people are driven to insanity.
I am one of the many child soldiers who have come and gone in Heliud - the place where all of this is happening. It's run by the king. King Hamdo. The man that many of us fear and are afraid of. He runs this entire operation, and does unspeakable things to a lot of people. Whether it's beating someone, forcing them into sex -- a myriad of reasons, which is why the children are subjected to take care of the adults in these conditions.
But, that will come later in our story. For now... I am Hoshi, sixteen years old, a resident of the village of Kidal, and this is my count of the stories I've heard from people on my travels and to paint this picture into a better one.
For the future. For our future.
